Hard Luck Blues Band (N)
 
  De var her i 2006, gjorde stor suksess og er velkommen tilbake i år! 
Det hele startet i forbindelse med et CD-prosjekt våren 1991 der gitarist Oddvar Solheim var hovedperson. Utgivelsen fikk navnet "To the bone". Prosjektet ble Hard Luck Blues Band, som etter mye turnering gikk i studio, og resultatet ble utgivelsen ”Wourld of trouble” (1995), og Hard Luck’s tredje utgivelse "Unfinished business" (2001).

De to siste med Svein Ole Fjelde på vokal. HLBB er nå på det 18 året og feirer 20 års jubileum i 2011.

Bandet har siden 2003 byttet  munnspiller og trommeslager og består i dag av:  ·         Oddvar Solheim - Gitar  ·         Svein Ole Fjelde – Vokal ·         Thomas Ognedal Matre – Bass ·         Arnt Ove Kvernenes – Munnspill  ·         Vidar Støyva - Trommer

HLBB har de senere årene fått mye oppmerksomhet både i inn og utland: Første norske bluesband valgt til månedens band (August 2008) i Scandinavias største bluesmagasin Jefferson

Europeiske radiostasjoner har også fattet interesse I HLBB blant annet:

Radio Coteaux (France) - Bluesiana radio (Netherlands) - Radio Holstebro (Denmark)

 

HLBB har flere uker ligget på 10 mest spilte band på internettradioen:

Dette har medført at vi gjennom cdbaby (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/hardluckbluesband)

i 2008/ 2009 har solgt ett 100 talls cder verden over, og spilt festivaler i inn og utland blant annet Dundee Blues Bonanza (Skottland), og turnert  i Danmark m.m.

Hard Luck BB har også gjort flere turneer med blues musikere fra USA og UK.

(Blant annet turne med  RJ Mischo 2009, og Don Wise  (Delbert McClinton band) på Sildajazz 2007)

3/27/2009: I don’t have much complaints here. For the type of song that this is, I LOVED IT. The performance was excellent and it was very well played. Im sure this is not a crossover hit but people who love blues or funk music will enjoy this very much, I know I did.  

2/8/2009: Very funky, the voice matches with the type of song and very good vocal performance. Its very well played, I really enjoyed the musical arrangements especially the horns and the electric guitar breakdown. Overall good songs and I can see this doing good on some radio stations but not a hit. 

1/8/2009: I actually like the sound of this band from what i´ve heard so far, nice feel and groove to them.

 

2/9/2009: Certain genres breed on familiarity rather than originality. I think, to a degree, blues is in the latter category, whereby if you venture too far from the formula, it just ain´t the blues. So with that in mind, this is at the the top of its tree. A very well played and well recorded piece of exactly what is required by its audience - true to what it needs to be, and very well executed.
